How We Do It

IXL

Students complete individualized targeted practice to reinforce skills and build proficiency.

OST Prep

Students practice content and questions from the Ohio State Tests building confidence and stamina.

High-Dose Tutoring

Students receive homework help and individualized reading tutoring tailored to each student’s needs.

Data-Driven

We use data to see the whole picture, track growth across multiple areas, and better understand each student’s unique needs. By measuring progress over time, we can make informed decisions and provide targeted support where it matters most.

IXL Diagnostic Assessment

All students who attend The HARDY Center are required to complete the IXL Diagnostic Assessment at the beginning, middle, and end of each program cycle to measure academic growth in math and ELA.

The assessment identifies each student’s current grade-level proficiency and provides a detailed picture of strengths and areas for growth. Based on each student’s results, IXL generates personalized skill recommendations that target specific areas for improvement and help students build proficiency over time.

Grades

We review quarterly report cards to establish a baseline and monitor academic progress over the school year.

Standardized Test Scores

We track and analyze standardized test scores, including OST, STAR, and MAP, to measure academic proficiency and monitor student growth.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

We attend Parent/Teacher Conferences for our students, gathering individualized feedback from classroom teachers.

Tutor Notes

Tutors document observations, interventions, and growth to inform instruction and support student’s individual needs.

Student Outcomes

Our students don’t just make measurable academic growth, they stand out. Through targeted instruction and individualized support, students build the skills, confidence, and independence to become more successful in their classrooms and beyond.

Our 2025–26 Afterschool Academic Achievement Program demonstrated meaningful academic growth, with 70% of students performing at or above grade level and students making an average of 9 months of academic growth in just 5 months. These results reflect the impact of targeted instruction, individualized support, and consistent progress monitoring.

The HARDY Way Connection

The HARDY Way shapes everything we do.

Academic proficiency is the foundation of our approach, providing students with the skills they need to grow beyond academics. Our goal is to develop critical thinkers, problem solvers, and purpose-driven individuals prepared to succeed.

Continuum of Growth

Together, our programs create a powerful cycle of learning, growth, and discovery that prepares students to thrive in school, life, and their communities. The Afterschool Academic Achievement Program builds a strong academic foundation, while the Summer Pathways Program gives students opportunities to apply their learning through experiences that expand their horizons and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
