Stephen Garland
Stephen E. Garland is a dedicated leader and advocate for community empowerment, recognized for his outstanding contributions as the Executive Director of the Hardy Center Inc in Columbus, Ohio. With a passion for social change and a commitment to fostering a culture of service, Stephen has become a prominent figure in the nonprofit sector.
In 2013, Stephen was honored with the prestigious Jefferson Award, a testament to his exceptional dedication to improving the lives of individuals and communities. This accolade recognized his tireless efforts in driving positive change, which have had a profound impact on the Columbus community and beyond.
Stephen E. Garland's journey with the Hardy Center began in 2007 when he assumed the role of Executive Director. Under his visionary leadership, the organization has flourished, expanding its reach and influence. His ability to bring together diverse groups, foster collaborations, and develop innovative solutions has been instrumental in addressing critical social issues, such as education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation.

Treasurer
Kortney Miller
Kortney Miller, a luminary in the realm of interior architecture design, shines as a creative force and a devoted community leader. With a degree from the esteemed Columbus College of Art and Design and a prolific career, her journey is a testament to her unwavering dedication to both her craft and the betterment of her community.
A proud graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design, Kortney Miller earned her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture Design in 2009. Her formative years laid the foundation for a career characterized by innovation, style, and an innate understanding of the art of transforming spaces.
Stepping into the professional arena, Miller found her niche as a Senior Interior Designer at Anne Rogers Interiors. This distinguished firm, with a legacy dating back to 1993, has set the standard for full-service residential design. Miller’s role as a senior designer reflects her expertise in conceptualizing and creating interiors that meld aesthetics and functionality seamlessly.
Beyond her stellar career, Kortney Miller’s commitment to community service is nothing short of inspirational. As a board member of the Hardy Center since 2014, she has demonstrated her dedication to giving back and fostering positive change. Her impact resonates deeply, making her a shining example of a community-driven leader.
While Kortney thrives professionally and in service, her role as a wife and mother to five beautiful children showcases her boundless love and dedication. Serving her family with passion and care, she embodies the qualities of resilience and balance that define her approach to both her personal and professional life.
Kortney Miller’s journey is a symphony of creativity, leadership, and compassion. Her impact radiates through her designs, community involvement, and the nurturing of her own family. As an alumna of Columbus College of Art and Design, a senior interior designer, a devoted community leader, wife, and mother, Kortney’s story continues to inspire those who have the privilege of crossing her path.

Trustee
Scott Tucker
Scott has served as President of Ohio Support Services and Ohio Custodial Management since 2000. Scott oversees the management of over 400 employees that provide security and janitorial services to large facilities around the state.
Scott is a member of International Facility Management Association (IFMA), the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) and the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS).
Scott has a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Butler University. Scott is also a board Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through ASIS, and Chaired the Certification Committee of ASIS International (formerly American Society for Industrial Security). Scott has served as Chairman of the Columbus ASIS chapter. ASIS is the largest and most respected security industry association in the United States.
Scott has served on the board of The Hardy Center since 2017.

Board Chairman
Wendell Tucker
Wendell Tucker is the President of Data Resolutions, Inc, which he founded in 1995. For over 20 years, he has been providing IT services to primarily Columbus-based companies, including Germain Motor Co and The Ohio State University. His expertise lies in maintaining systems, networks, and cybersecurity for clients, as well as developing web-based solutions to facilitate workflows.

Wendell grew up in central Ohio and attended Linden Park Elementary School. His experiences there have contributed to his enthusiasm for supporting The Hardy Center and the Linden community. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from The University of Dayton. After college, Wendell spent a year as a volunteer in Sierra Leone, West Africa, assisting an indigenous NGO in securing funding and expertise for rural-based women-run businesses.

Since its inception in 2007, Wendell has had the privilege of working with Stephen Garland and The Hardy Center. Over the years, he has provided IT support, computers, and other forms of assistance as The Hardy Center evolved. Wendell currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for The Hardy Center.

Secretary
Canaan Miller
Canaan Miller is a dedicated professional and family person. With a decade of experience in the financial services industry, he has honed his skills as a Certified Project Manager and holds a Series 6 license. Currently working as a Project Manager at Nationwide Financial, Canaan is also pursuing a finance degree at Franklin University.
Beyond his career, Canaan is deeply committed to his community, serving as the Secretary for The Hardy Center. He is a loving husband and father of five, finding joy in both his family and his work. Canaan's passion for financial services and his devotion to making a positive impact in his community define his remarkable journey.
